The Kozhikode District Co-operative Hospital, registered in the year 1972, and commissioned into service in the year 1973, had indeed become one of the excellent centres of quality health care and medical treatment in the city, at much affordable cost, in the co-operative sector, having already put in 38 glorious years, in the path of service to the general public, winning their full faith and confidence, during these long years. The aim of the hospital is to make available better and quality treatment to the general public at much lesser and affordable costs, compared to other big hospitals in the city, where the same is denied to them. With this in mind, along with the specialty departments, super-specialty departments like urology, nephrology, gastroenterology, cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, etc, are functioning. More complicated orthopaedic surgeries like total hip, knee, and joint replacements are also being performed. Apart from the above, a school of general nursing and midwifery, imparting quality education and coaching in the field of nursing, is also functioning in the hospital. Presently the management is contemplating commencing newer projects, imbibing the new trends and advancements of the modern times, in the health sector.
