Beypore Pulimutt

The Beypore Beach, Pulimutt is about 10 kms away from the Kozhikode city. Pulimutt is the local name of the 1 km long (0. 62 mi) bridge made of stone stretching into the sea. It is made by piling stones like a pathway to sea. Pulimutt is the major attraction of the Beypore Beach. It is like a rocky pier over the sea that runs for about a km into the sea. The rock pier is modified to a walking path with street lights on both side and several benches to sit. The benches have granite tops for the comfort of the visitors. A walk along this pathway is the best bet for relaxation. The waves can be seen crashing onto either side of the pathway. During high tide, it is even more exciting. The ships can be seen coming to the port and one can get the closest view from this Pulimutt. From the starting point of this rocky pier, it feels like walking into the horizon with the path seemingly unending and merging with the blue horizon. Watching the sunset from this point would be truly magical. The bridge-like rocky pier acts as a channel that allows the ships to pass to the nearby Beypore Port. This bridge also protects the beach from the high tidal waves. From the bridge, one can see the rough sea on one side and a calm and serene water body on the other. Because of the length of this bridge, when one has reached the far end of it and too far from the beach, it will be an awe-inspiring view with the combination of the sea and clouds, especially on a cloudy evening. There is a similar sea bridge on the other side from the Chaliyar. These 2 sea bridges make the convenient channel for the ships and boats to the port. It is advised to make a visit at any time except during the holidays due to excessive rush.
